We had a blast with these River Oaks Country Club wedding photos at Susan & Phil’s wedding! We packed our bags the day before and hopped on a plane to the big and beautiful Houston, Texas. We’ve gotta give it to Houston wedding photographers, Houston is HUGE! With 3 perimeters wrapping around the city??? Atlanta only has 1! Being a destination wedding photographer, I LOVE the adventure we experience when we get to travel for our work.

KTN Ballroom Photos | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
We are over the moon with these KTN Ballroom Photos from Lydia & Duk’s Korean / Western fusion wedding! As an Atlanta wedding photographer, it’s a joy to venture past the city to visit some killer venues when we have the opportunity!
About a week before Lydia & Duk’s wedding, weather reports started rolling in – reporting a crazy snow storm to be expected on the day of the wedding! As the wedding day drew closer and closer, Lydia & Duk remained remarkably calm. We drove into town for the wedding the night before the storms hit so we would be close to the venue in case the roads were bad. When we woke up Saturday morning and looked out the window, we didn’t see much snow, but we did see ICE! Beautiful frosted trees, icicles hanging from the rooftops, all littered with a light sprinkling of snow! The temperatures were forecasted to be below freezing most of the day. While we photographed the getting ready photographs at the venue, the bridesmaids cuddled up in their cozy warm monogrammed robes! After shooting the bridesmaids and groomsmen at the venue, we headed over to the downtown Duluth courthouse area for the first look and bridal party pictures. I can’t believe how brave and fearless Lydia & Duk were among the rest of their bridal party as we all braved the below freezing temperatures. Everyone was in good spirits, happy & excited to witness the couple’s first look! After capturing bridal & bridal party formals downtown, we trekked back to the venue for a couple more photos with the bride and groom. Because of the snow storm, it was expected that there might not be the best guest turn out with the icy roads. However, the couple were delighted when the ceremony started and the majority of the 300 guests had braved the winter elements to witness their union! After the ceremony, there was a DELICIOUS Korean buffet spread, followed soon after by the first dance, bouquet toss, and send off. As an Atlanta wedding photographer, I present to you a couple of highlights of the KTN Ballroom photos from Lydia & Duk’s wedding!
This day wouldn’t be possible without this stellar group of vendors!

In the heart of downtown Atlanta, where rich history fuses seamlessly with modern elegance, stands the Southern Exchange Ballrooms. Nestled on the historic corner of Peachtree and Ellis, the location is adorned with deep historical significance and contemporary allure, making it a premier event venue in the city.
A Storied Past
The Southern Exchange Ballrooms at 200 Peachtree St. NW have a rich history, originating as the Davison & Douglas department store in 1891. Over the years, the building transformed and flourished amidst Atlanta’s evolving business scene and railroads’ influence. It eventually became Davison-Paxon-Stokes, purchased by R.H. Macy in 1927. The redesign of the store was inspired by Macy’s Herald Square flagship store and was helmed by renowned Atlanta architect Philip Shutze. Today, elements of its luxurious past, such as the marble-floored cosmetics and jewelry area, can be seen in the venue’s Whitehall Ballroom.
A Venue for All Occasions
Today, Southern Exchange Ballrooms, with its distinctive blend of historic charm and modern sophistication, is renowned for hosting a wide range of events. Its reputation for creating unforgettable experiences makes it an ideal venue for weddings, where every couple’s exchange of vows is treated with genuine compassion and detailed expertise.

Flexible and Diverse Event Spaces
Offering a capacity for up to 5,000 people, Southern Exchange Ballrooms presents six distinct event spaces, each tailored to the preferences of different clients. From the opulence of the Whitehall Ballroom, characterized by stately marble floors and polished crystal chandeliers, to the rustic charm of the Grant Loft, surrounded by exposed brick and a concrete floor, there’s an event space for everyone. Other venues include The Davison Ballroom, The Cellar, The 155, and Augusta Conference Center. Additionally, the venue offers the option of a complete building buyout.
