Weddings at Night
If you are planning for an evening ceremony or reception, or your curious to see what weddings at night may look like, it is crucial to inspect a wedding photography studio’s nighttime wedding photos. Not only will you find lots of inspiration for night wedding ideas, but it should also bring peace of mind to see that your photographers are competent and excel under all lighting conditions – regardless of any restrictions or challenges a wedding day might present. An experienced photography team should provide supplemental lighting as necessary throughout your day to produce the best end quality of work. "Jaimie and Kyle captured our wedding day perfectly. We booked them for our engagement photos and we knew then that they had to join us for our wedding too! They are such an incredible team and so much fun! ... they really put us at ease. Our wedding photos look like US in the best way possible. They captured our dynamic, our silliness, and of course our love for each other... You absolutely must book them for your big day."

How many photos do you get from a wedding photographer?
If you're wondering how many photos per hour you get at a wedding, you're not alone! With two photographers included in every wedding photography collection, we average 100 – 150 images per hour. For example – for a standard 8 hour wedding day, we typically deliver 800 – 1200 images. With fewer guests in attendance and fewer details to photograph, you can expect to receive fewer images on the spectrum. With more guests and more details to photograph, you can expect to receive more images.
Do I get ALL of the photos from my wedding day?
Prior to delivering your wedding photography end product, we remove duplicate images, test photos, blurry photos, and any other images that might dilute the quality of the overall end product. The end product we deliver averages 100-150 images per hour. (Learn more about our Editing & Post Production Process here)
What photography equipment do you use?

My wedding venue is very dark – Do you bring additional lighting?
YES! We bring…. ALL OF THE LIGHTS….. (Rihanna, anyone? 😜). On camera flashes, off camera flashes, and even video lights that act as personal spot lights (so you can ….. shine bright like a diamond…..😝). We bring lighting equipment to prepare for just about any situation that may or may not arise. And on the off chance your venue is a dark church or chapel that doesn’t permit additional lighting, we photograph with professional grade equipment that specializes in low light situations.
Do you edit ALL of my wedding photos?
Yes and no! Every image you receive (typically 100–150 images per hour) is professionally corrected for color and exposure. This ensures your photos are beautifully balanced, with colors that are vibrant yet true to life.
During the photography process, we focus on lighting and posing to create the most flattering images for all skin tones, body sizes, and shapes. Our goal is to deliver timeless, natural photos that celebrate your day and your story. Learn more about our Editing & Post-Production Services here.
Do you offer beauty style retouching? Like SUPER skin smoothing, ULTRA teeth whitening, body shaping, etc?
Yes! All commissioned art pieces and wedding album images include complimentary custom retouching to ensure they look flawless and perfectly match your vision. From subtle skin smoothing to enhanced details, we tailor this process to your preferences. Learn more about the editing process here.
For clients who wish to enhance additional images beyond their artwork or album selections, we offer custom retouching as an optional service at the time of your Ordering Premiere.
Our goal is to ensure your images reflect your story beautifully, with every detail thoughtfully polished to your comfort level.
Do you back up our images?
Absolutely! Your images are protected with a meticulous multi-layer backup process to ensure their safety and security:
- On the Wedding Day: Our professional-grade cameras record each image simultaneously onto two separate memory cards (CF/SD), creating an instant duplicate.
- Upon Returning to the Studio: All images are promptly uploaded to our local server and also backed up to a secure, offsite cloud server.
- Memory Card Preservation: The original memory cards are kept intact and are not overwritten until after your gallery has been delivered to ensure an additional layer of protection.
At any given moment, multiple copies of your images are stored across different systems, giving you peace of mind that your memories are secure. Learn more about our Backup & Post-Production Process here.
What happens if we cancel or reschedule our wedding?
To reserve your wedding date, we require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer payment. This ensures that your Photo Team is exclusively dedicated to your event and declines other bookings for that date.
In the event of a cancellation or rescheduling:
- If the change occurs 60 days or more before your wedding date, the retainer payment will be retained as liquidated damages.
- If the change occurs within 60 days of your wedding date, all monies paid will be retained as liquidated damages to account for the time and resources reserved for your event.
This policy is outlined in your contract, which is agreed upon at the time of booking, and applies consistently to all clients. If you have questions about this policy, we encourage you to discuss them with us prior to booking.
NIGHTTIME WEDDING PHOTOS for weddings at night
Nighttime wedding photos can be cause for concern among brides & grooms. Rest assured, hiring a great wedding photography studio should help to alleviate some of those concerns for those weddings at night.
At Jaimie Dee Photography, the majority of wedding collections offered to couples typically include at least two wedding day photographers. This is crucial – especially where night time wedding photos are concerned. Any time while using additional equipment (whether to provide additional lighting or otherwise), there is always the opportunity for misfires and malfunctions to occur. Having not just one, but two photographers in your wedding package helps to provide backup & security in the event the unthinkable happens.
An experienced photo team will also have enough lighting gear with them to handle any wedding day lighting scenario that might occur, including weddings at night. Any time low light wedding photography is concerned, there are multitude of solutions that can be provided by your photo team.
While every photo team at Jaimie Dee Photography is fully equipped to handle any lighting situation that might occur, it is highly recommended to discuss all lighting concerns during the Photography Timeline Planning Meeting before the wedding day. This will give your photo team a heads up of any unusual lighting restrictions that may be imposed by your venue.
If your venue restricts flash photography, our photographers are equipped with constant lights (or video lights) to be able to provide distraction free & consistent lighting on your wedding day as needed.
If your venue restricts all artificial lighting, our photographers are equipped with state of the art camera gear & lenses that are capable in shooting in the darkest of places.
If you are concerned about the quality of work your photographers can provide during any particular portion of your day (particularly for weddings at night), please discuss with the Studio during your Photography Timeline Planning Meeting.
