When Lauren & Chris asked us to capture their orchestra themed engagement photos at Marietta Square, we were so excited! This fabulous pair met in their high school orchestra class – hence the theme of their session. When Lauren & Chris selected Marietta Square as the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos, they wanted to make sure they could make their engagement session personal by including the same instruments they had in high school.
Located in the metro Atlanta area, the Marietta Square offers a hip vibe for an urban engagement photo session location. With all of it’s small side streets, brightly painted brick walls, and lush greenery and fountain in the center of the square, it makes for quite the backdrop for your engagement session location!
Engagement photos done at Piedmont Park are particularly beautiful when photographed during sunset. Every Atlanta wedding photographer can agree sunrise & sunset are perhaps the most magical times of day to shoot. These two are avid Atlanta Braves fans. They did an excellent job incorporating their love of baseball into their engagement session. Piedmont Park, based in Atlanta, Georgia was an excellent location choice for their engagement photos.
Amy & Josh were ABSOLUTELY wonderful to work with at the South Kitchen and Bar. As Amy & Josh are already married, they were such a good sport about their styled Athens engagement photos. Any Atlanta wedding photographer would be blessed to work with this beautiful couple. Below is a quick interview with Amy and a couple highlights from their styled Athens engagement photos at South Kitchen and Bar.
Was it love at first sight?
No. We each thought the other was cute, and we instantly became friends.
How did you meet your spouse?
We met at church. He was the drummer, and I was the jaded gal. (We met after I’d endured a rough breakup.)
What was the first thing you remember about that moment?
He had on a Curious George t-shirt, and his eyes were gorgeous.
What attracted you most to your spouse?
His kindness and his devotion to the Lord.
What made this person different from anyone else you’d encountered?
He respected me as a lady and a human being.
Where was your first date, and how long did it take you to get ready?
Honestly, neither of us remember!
Who was the first person you told about your fiancé after your first date?
Most likely my mom or dad.
Who said “I love you” first?
I did. And Josh was “upset” because I beat him to the punch.
How did you feel the first time your spouse told you he/ she loved you?
I felt happy. I knew it was real and true.
When did you know he/she was the one?
Shortly after we started dating. It scared me, as I was only 18, so I broke up with him after only a week of dating! Needless to say, we stayed friends and got back together shortly after.
How did you feel after you had that “this is it” moment?
Scared to death!
Were you nervous about your spouse meeting your family?
Not at all. I knew they would love him.
Who does your spouse remind you most of?
He reminds me of all the silly and sarcastic men in my family. He keeps me laughing!
What’s the one thing about your partner you couldn’t live without?
His love for Jesus. Our family would be out of control if he didn’t constantly put Jesus in the captian’s chair. He’s an inspiration!
We had the honor of photographing Phoebe & Michael for their Marietta Square engagement photos over the weekend. Any Atlanta wedding photography studio would die to photograph a couple this photogenic! Here’s a little sneak peek for now. All Atlanta wedding photography studios LOVE to shoot couples as gorgeous and as wonderful to work with as Phoebe & Michael. Shooting their Marietta Square engagement photos, we had a blast! Below are a couple of highlights from their engagement session as well as a quick interview with the bride and groom to be!
Was It love at first sight?
Not at all. It took us some time to really get to know that we were the perfect match.
How did you meet your fiancé?
At the time, Michael’s brother was dating my older sister, but we had never officially never met each other. One night we had gone to the same party at a skating rink in Atlanta. He mistook me for my sister and after I scared him off, he never wanted to talk to me again.
What attracted you most to your fiancé? Phoebe: I would say Michael has all the “good” traits that I wasn’t born with. He really does complete me.
Michael: I was most attracted to her personality and character.
When did you know your fiancé was the one?
Phoebe: Two weeks after I moved from Georgia, Michael came out to Texas to visit me as a surprise. It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.
Michael: When I was sick and at my worst, she was still there for me.
Who does your fiancé remind you most of? I would say Phoebe reminds me of her father. They both have a humble and loving attitude towards the people they love the most.
What’s the one thing about your partner you couldn’t live without? Phoebe: His dimples and his sense of humor. He can always make me laugh.
Michael: We have such good conversations and are so comfortable talking to each other. That’s one of the things I love most about our relationship.
