As an Atlanta wedding photography studio, we were SO excited when our couple mentioned they would like to do aquarium engagement photos at the Georgia Aquarium! This venue has definitely been on our Atlanta wedding photography wish list of awesome places to shoot in the city! We started shooting as soon as we got there, the first couple of images taken right at the entry way. As we progressed throughout the different exhibits, we stopped multiple times to take more aquarium engagement photos along the way. On a weekday evening, just a couple of hours before closing – was the PERFECT time to shoot when there weren’t tons of other patrons trafficking through! Without further ado, we’d like to showcase some of our favorite highlights from the aquarium engagement session as well as a quick interview with this dynamic duo!

How did you meet?
Bride: We met on OKCupid, and my first impression was that he had very kind eyes.
Groom: On our first date, we clicked really quickly. We chatted really easily, and the night seemed to fly by.
How/ when did you start dating? What attracted you most to each other?
Bride: Ability to converse easily. I was nervous, in fact I thought he ditched me at the restaurant, and I got grumpy with him on the phone because I couldn’t find him, but he was already inside 🙂
Groom: Our first date was at Cafe Intermezzo. Also our first kiss 🙂 I was nervous at first, but got really comfortable when we started to realize we had a lot in common.
Tell me about your relationship. Were you nervous about one another meeting your family? Who said I love you first?
Bride: He accepted me for who I am. I was nervous to meet his much more traditional family. I remember the way he looked at me when he told me he loved me, and it made me feel wonderful.
Groom: I said I love you first. We had been to a scotch tasting event with some of my friends, and I just loved how she was able to keep up with the guys and have a blast with us. I wasn’t nervous about her meeting my family – I knew they’d love her.

How did the engagement happen?
Bride: We were in the hotel room in Germany. I knew that it was going to happen I just didn’t know when. I was definitely surprised in the fact that he had pretended several times before that he was going to propose and tricked me so i thought that it was another one of his tricks.
Groom: I proposed in Germany. It wasn’t a surprise at all – we had even picked out the ring together a month before. She knew it was going to happen on our trip to Europe, but she still acted surprised and cried when I put the ring on her hand.

Last Questions! What’s the one thing about each other you couldn’t live without?
Bride: The greatest companionship I’ve ever had is with him, and I could not give that up.
Groom: Any time I’m traveling or away from home, when I wake up without her, I feel like part of me is missing. I love starting each day with her, and ending each day at her side.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Bride: We have two dachshunds that we’re obsessed with, and a cat that we love very much.
Groom: We totally have the same sense of humor, and we’re constantly lightheartedly teasing each other and play fighting.
When Jyll & Kass requested for their engagement session to be shot in and around their home, we were SO EXCITED! As an Atlanta wedding photographer, the opportunity to capture Buckhead engagement photos is such a thrill! It’s so much fun to shoot in the heart of the city. We met at the couple’s condo as a starting point and ventured from there. As we walked down the streets towards their wedding venue, we stopped along the way for some beautiful city shots. We ended the session in the comfort of the couple’s home with their super cuddly canine Ryker! Needless to say, he stole the show! I’ve never met a dog who posed so well for every shot! Below are a couple of highlights from the engagement session as well as a quick interview with the Trendiest Couple of 2016 – Jyll & Kass!
How did you meet?
We met in a bar, both recently single. We are both tall so our eyes locked from across the room. It was not love at first sight, his friends holla’ed at us and were loud but in the end got us to come over and talk to them.
How/ when did you start dating?
I gave him my number after we left the bar and he texted the next day (Sunday) and we went on our first date at Cafe Intermezzo that Tuesday. I don’t think either of us were super nervous.
Tell me about your relationship
Every time I met or interacted with Kass he was genuine, didn’t play games, and was always looking to make me happy. We met in March 2015 and took things kind of slow, but by July 2015 we were already pretty serious. Kass said he loved me first, to which I responded ‘thank you’. I don’t think I expected it so soon. But everything fell into place and we just love being together!
When did you know this person was the one?
I think a year after we started dating we both kinda knew this was it. He started hinting that maybe he would propose and after he started that I was expecting it at almost every turn!
How did the engagement happen?
We were on a vacation to Universal Studios, not the most romantic place, but I really wanted to go for my birthday. He proposed at a near by park that had nice restaurants and a small lake nearby. He was very nervous and I could tell he was acting weird. The whole proposal took 15 seconds and afterward Kass said, that’s it!?!
Last Questions! What’s the one thing about each other you couldn’t live without?
The part that I love about Kass that really sets him apart is how much of a doer he is. I mention something in passing and he is on it to make it happen. And whenever I have had a bad day or don’t feel good, the first thing he does is ask “What can I do to make Bae happy?” So he takes great care of me and our relationship.
Anything else you’d like to share?
We are just so enjoying being engaged and really looking forward to getting married!
Engagement Photos at Home | Atlanta Wedding Photographer
Any Atlanta wedding photographer would be super excited to work with a couple as awesome as Kelsey & Andy for their engagement photos at home! We weren’t scarce on engagement photo ideas and there was no shortage of engagement photo props. Some of our favorite engagement photo props were regular everyday things like books, blankets, and coffee mugs. We didn’t even really need any engagement photo poses – Kelsey and Andy were so natural in their own environment and in the way they acted around each other! If you’re looking for engagement photo ideas for a rainy day, look no further! Do your engagement photos at home. Below is a quick interview with the bride and groom to be.
Was it love at first sight? No, we started off as friends.
How did the two of you meet? Kelsey: We met in High School through his ex-girlfriend and an old friend of mine.
What was the first thing you remember about that moment? Kelsey: I remember he was sweet and respectful. He thought I was shy, sweet, and reserved
What attracted you most to one another? Andy: I was attracted to her kindness for others. Kelsey: I was attracted to his laugh and goofiness.
What made this person different from anyone else you’d encountered? Kelsey: His sweetness and gentle spirit towards me as well as his bear hugs. Andy: I could tell her anything in confidence and she empathized and listened without judgment.
Where was your first date, and how long did it take you to get ready? Kelsey: Our first date was at the Mill. He packed a picnic lunch and set up everything for us. I was nervous so it took me awhile to get ready for our date.
Who was the first person you told about your fiancé after your first date? Andy: I told my best friend William first. Kelsey: I told my best friend Malia first.
Who said “I love you” first? Kelsey: Andy said “I love you” first. He’s such a goofy romantic.
How did you feel the first time these words were said? Kelsey: I was shocked. I didn’t know what to think. It was our third date and I wasn’t even thinking about falling in love with him at that moment. I stood there with my mouth gaping and said “I’ll have to get back to you” Andy: Happy I wasn’t rejected.
When did you each know that the other was the one? Kelsey: When he showed up at my college dorm. I was sick with bronchitis and he drove all morning just to stay with me a day. He had to leave that night but he watched movies with me all day and helped me clean. Andy: Her supportiveness through all my ups and downs in college.
How did you feel after you had that “this is it” moment? Kelsey: I was giddy, happy and content. I felt at home. Andy: Im the luckiest guy in the world and I still feel that way today.
Were you nervous about one another meeting your family? Kelsey: I was excited about him meeting my family. A bundle of nerves as well but excited because I really liked him. Andy: I was excited for her to meet my family. I knew my parents would be happy to meet her, my little brother wouldn’t care; the only concern I had was my sister. She can be very judgmental, and I was afraid of what she might say or do!
Who does your partner remind you most of? Kelsey: My granddad, Boyd Goss. He is always so kind to others and puts my grandmother first in everything. The supportive, loving nature with a serious side. Andy: My grandma, Peggy Bateman. She was always so happy and willing to help others. She enjoyed the little things in life, but there were times for seriousness too.
What’s the one thing about one another you couldn’t live without? Kelsey: I couldn’t live without his goofiness. I am serious a lot of the time and he just pulls out my goofiness. He knows when to be serious but there is nothing I love more when he starts goofing off with me and we get into a tickle fight. Every time I think about it, I smile and laugh. Andy: I could not live without her smile. Everyday I make a point or many points to make her smile and laugh. I want to be able to make her smile everyday, and I know the more I do make her smile, the stronger our relationship is.
Anything else you’d like to share? We are best friends first. We love comics and we have a rivalry between Batman and Spiderman.
Montaluce Winery: Where Love Stories Blossom Amidst Vines
In the heart of North Georgia, where the mountains whisper tales of timeless romance, Montaluce Winery stands as a testament to love’s enduring promise. As a renowned wedding photography studio in the metro Atlanta area, we’ve ventured into many venues, but Montaluce holds a special place in our hearts. Here’s our ode to this vineyard’s charm and why “Montaluce Winery Engagement Photos” resonate with timeless love.
Montaluce: A Symphony of Nature and Elegance
Unlike any other, Montaluce Winery is where nature’s raw beauty meets human artistry. The vineyards, with their rows of grapevines, seem to dance to the tunes of the wind, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for couples lost in each other’s eyes.
Moments Captured at Montaluce
Sunset Serenades: As the sun dips below the horizon, the vineyards are bathed in a golden hue, offering a moment that’s both intimate and grand – a favorite for those surprise proposal shots.
Tuscan Whispers: The architecture, echoing Tuscan aesthetics, provides quaint corners and grand archways, perfect for those candid laughs and deep gazes.
Nature’s Embrace: Beyond the vineyards, the surrounding woodlands and mountain views offer a serene setting, capturing the adventurous spirit of couples.
The Montaluce Experience: Beyond Photography
Wine Tales: Each bottle of Montaluce wine tells a story of the land, the climate, and the passion that goes into winemaking. Sharing a bottle post-session (or before!) adds a touch of celebration to the day.
Culinary Journey: The Trattoria di Montaluce is not just a restaurant; it’s a journey through Italy’s rich culinary heritage. What better way to end an engagement session than with a romantic dinner under the stars?
Crafting Stories at Montaluce
Every couple has a unique story, and Montaluce Winery provides the canvas to paint it beautifully. Our experience as wedding and portrait photographers at this venue has taught us one thing: Montaluce isn’t just a backdrop; it’s an incredible canvas for a breathtaking love story.
In the end, Montaluce Winery isn’t just about the photos; it’s about the memories etched in every corner, every vine, and every bottle. And as your photographers, we promise to capture not just images but the essence of your love tale.

Below is a quick interview with Amy and a couple highlights from their styled Athens engagement photos at South Kitchen and Bar.
Was it love at first sight?
No. We each thought the other was cute, and we instantly became friends.
How did you meet your spouse?
We met at church. He was the drummer, and I was the jaded gal. (We met after I’d endured a rough breakup.)
What was the first thing you remember about that moment?
He had on a Curious George t-shirt, and his eyes were gorgeous.
What attracted you most to your spouse?
His kindness and his devotion to the Lord.
What made this person different from anyone else you’d encountered?
He respected me as a lady and a human being.
Where was your first date, and how long did it take you to get ready?
Honestly, neither of us remember!
Who was the first person you told about your fiancé after your first date?
Most likely my mom or dad.
Who said “I love you” first?
I did. And Josh was “upset” because I beat him to the punch.
How did you feel the first time your spouse told you he/ she loved you?
I felt happy. I knew it was real and true.
When did you know he/she was the one?
Shortly after we started dating. It scared me, as I was only 18, so I broke up with him after only a week of dating! Needless to say, we stayed friends and got back together shortly after.
How did you feel after you had that “this is it” moment?
Scared to death!

Not at all. I knew they would love him.
Who does your spouse remind you most of?
He reminds me of all the silly and sarcastic men in my family. He keeps me laughing!

His love for Jesus. Our family would be out of control if he didn’t constantly put Jesus in the captian’s chair. He’s an inspiration!
