If you’re looking for photos of the Wheeler House, you’ve come to the right place!
Full of southern charm, it’s one of North Georgia’s top rated premiere wedding venues!
Getting Ready Spaces
The Wheeler House provides elegant bridal suites and dressing rooms for you and your wedding party! The bridal suite is adorned with wicker furnishings and charming southern style decor, including a large clawfoot tub that adds a nice flourish of historic charm
Your groom and groomsmen can enjoy their own climate-controlled suite in the barn, complete with a television and ample space for changing and storing all their personal items.
Additionally, guests can also enjoy a billiards room inside the house during their time at the venue. It also makes for a great photo op!
The History of the Wheeler House Venue
The Wheeler House Wedding Venue has a rich history that adds to its allure as one of the top North Georgia wedding venues. Originally constructed in 1906 (by the owner of The Wheeler lumber yard), this incredible venue was built using the best lumber available. Its entire 6,000 square feet of flooring, walls, ceilings, and two-story wrap-around porches feature heart pine tongue and groove.
In February of 2010, The Wheeler House underwent an extensive renovation when it was purchased by Lee Lusk from Canton, Georgia. After more than a century since its initial construction, the venue was carefully restored, renovated, and upgraded to all its former glory. From the foundation to its roof, every aspect of the venue was meticulously repaired and refurbished to pristine condition!
In 2011, The Wheeler House Wedding Venue and Events Facility proudly opened its doors to host its first wedding, marking a new chapter in its history!
Now being restored to its former glory, The Wheeler House has become one of the most sought-after wedding venues in North Georgia, enchanting couples with its timeless southern charm and rich heritage.
History of the Barn
As a beautiful addition to The Wheeler House wedding venue, the barn was designed and built in 2012 by its owner Lee Lusk.
Serving as a reception site and an optional ceremony space for couples who prefer an indoor option, the barn offers a climate-controlled environment that can accommodate weddings all year-round. Whether you’re planning the perfect wedding for spring, summer, fall, or winter, the Wheeler House can accomodate any season!
The barn features a spacious dance floor that can be customized based on your floor plan, with guidance from the Wheeler House’s in-house wedding coordinators.
The barn was specifically planned and designed to complement the historic home and the majestic oak trees that surround it.
To maintain the Wheeler House’s commitment to sustainability and preservation, reclaimed lumber was used extensively in the barn’s construction.
As the reclaimed wood ages and weathers, the exterior siding of the barn will naturally start to grey, adding to its beauty and distinctive look over time.
The barn at The Wheeler House stands as a testament to its commitment to preserving history and sustainability while providing a stunning and functional venue space for weddings and events.

Getting Ready at Peachtree City Hotel & Conference Center
Dominique & Will began their day at the Peachtree City Hotel & Conference Center! This hotel had such a gorgeous interior in the lobby/ commons areas – it made for the perfect background for photos! Definitely a great spot for indoor photos if you happen to have a wedding in the middle of the Georgia summer heat, or if it’s the one week where it happens to be freezing here!
The Peachtree City Hotel & Conference Center had some of the most gorgeous lighting fixtures we’d ever seen! Such a fun modern design aesthetic.
There were lots of beautiful natural material backdrops to shoot upon. For these indoor portraits, we made sure to bring additional lighting gear with us to provide a nice and even quality of light!
Will & his groomsmen absolutely slayed this walking shot! Their navy blue suits really pop in these photos! What you don’t see here is Kyle running behind Jaimie Dee off camera and holding a giant studio light with umbrella. Kyle is pacing himself off camera and walking the same speed as Will & his groomsmen for us to be able to pull off this type of shot with that beautiful even lighting!
These are some of our favorites from Will’s groomsmen portraits from that day! We love the way their navy blue suits pop with the added studio lighting! Their suits just so happen to also match the area rug at the Peachtree City Hotel & Conference Center! A lovely coincidence.
Once we wrapped up with the groom & his groomsmen, we headed over to the bride & her bridesmaids suite! We loved the matching floral robes they all had – super fun & festive for the wedding! These ladies knew how to start the day off the right!
Magical Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Pavilion at Flat Creek Country Club
Once we wrapped with getting ready portraits with the bride & her bridesmaids, we headed over to Flat Creek Country Club! To see more photos from the getting ready process while we were there, scroll down to the bottom of this post to view the slideshow of images from the day!
Once of the things that stands out to us the most with Flat Creek Country Club is their breathtakingly gorgeous pavilion! As soon as we walked up to the ceremony space, I felt like we had just stepped into a dream! What an incredible view!
Flat Creek Country Club Wedding Reception Ballroom & Decor
Prior to the ceremony starting, we snuck into the reception hall to grab some detail & decor photos! The flowers for this day were supplied by none other than Julie Coffin with Unique Floral Expressions (UFE Atlanta). Julie ALWAYS does a phenomenal job at every event we have seen her work at. If you are looking for a super creative florist who can work MAGIC, contact Julie!
We were such a fan of these gorgeous and tall centerpieces!
Just before the bride stepped down the aisle, we snuck into the bridal suite to grab this quick portrait! Cinmi Makeup by Trice absolutely outdid herself! She did a phenomenal job on Dominique’s bridal makeup!
Flat Creek Country Club Wedding Ceremony Photos
We’re still so blown away by the incredible view at Flat Creek Country Club! This beautiful arch was adorned with florals, by the way, by Julie with Unique Floral Expressions! Check her out if you’re looking for a magical florist!
Bridal Party Portraits with Burgundy and Light Pink Bridesmaids Dresses
After the ceremony, we took some portraits with the bride & her bridesmaids! We had to work quickly – this wedding was in the middle of summer time in Georgia – the humidity levels here in the summer time are insane! We worked with the bride & groom ahead of time to create the perfect list of all the portraits to be captured during this time after the ceremony. To see more group portraits with family and the bridal party, check out the slideshow at the bottom of this post.
Bride & Groom Portraits in Front of Round Circle Wedding Arch
Close Up Portraits of Bride & Groom Under the Veil
For this shot, we threw the veil over the bride & groom’s heads! We ducked under the veil with them to grab some of these heartfelt moments.
Close Up Bride Portraits on Wedding Day
We couldn’t get enough of these GORGEOUS bridal portraits!
And of course we HAD to get some shots that really showed off that GORGEOUS arch some more!

We are honored to present Rachel & Jeff their Atlanta Rooftop Wedding photos from the Peachtree Club!!!
We started the day at the Loews hotel gathered in the groom’s suite. There we photographed candids of Jeff & his groomsmen watching the game! We also grabbed a couple of detail shots while we were there. To see images from this portion of the day, scroll down to the bottom of the post to view the slideshow.
Once we wrapped up with the guys, we head over to the girl’s suite! We grabbed a couple of candids of the ladies getting ready in addition to some details!
We absolutely LOVED these personalized custom champagne/ wine tumblers created for Rachel & her bridal party! Love the rose gold color and the choice of font!
Believe it or not, these rings were actually placed in front of a cell phone to generate this background! Such a neat trick! Loved how these turned out! And LOVED Rachel & Jeff’s wedding rings! SO gorgeous and so much character!
Once the girls were dressed, we head over to the Federal Reserve on foot! There, we captured some portraits of the bride & her bridesmaids! Love their purple/ lilac floor length bridesmaid dresses! Perfect for fall!
In addition to capturing some of the more classic style portraits, we also love to incorporate candid moments throughout the day & candid style portraiture.
Rachel & her bridesmaids BROUGHT the attitude! Loved every moment of it! So classy. Can’t get enough of these floor length lilac/ purple bridesmaid dresses!
Once we wrapped up portraits with the bridesmaids, we got to focus on portraits of the bride by herself! Rachel absolutely slayed this portion of the day!
One of the reasons we love shooting at the Federal Reserve is all of this gorgeous marble! It makes for such a gorgeous backdrop to shoot on.
After wrapping up portraits with the bride & bridesmaids at the Federal Reserve, the ladies walked onwards to the Peachtree Club where they would remain tucked away until the rooftop wedding ceremony!
Once the girls were safely tucked away the ceremony venue, Jeff & his groomsmen came out for some group portraits at the Federal Reserve! They absolutely rocked this shot!
This was their “album cover” photo!! 😂😂😂 Love it!!! So much attitude!
After wrapping up at the Federal Reserve, the guys started to head back to the Peachtree Club as well! Along the way, we stopped by the 999 Peachtree sign! An absolute must if you’re having your wedding at the Peachtree Club!
We arrived to the 28th floor to begin photographing all of the gorgeous ceremony & reception decor before the guests started to arrive! The bride & groom were tucked safely away in their respective suites.
Loved these beautiful, tall floral centerpieces! The florals from that day were supplied by Julie with Unique Floral Expressions (UFE) in Atlanta! Julie always does such an incredible job at every wedding we’ve seen her work at! If you’re looking for an amazing florist who will blow you away, definitely check her out!
We loved the variety in the floral centerpieces here supplied by Unique Floral Expressions!
Talk about a TALENTED team of vendors! Rachel & Jeff went with Cakes by Darcy for their wedding cake! This is probably one of the most unique travel themed wedding cakes we’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph! We LOVED the monochromatic black & white look! It was so striking.
Love their custom calligraphy cake topper for their travel themed wedding cake designed by Cakes by Darcy!!!
We love these breathtaking views we get to see at the Peachtree Club!
There were so many tender, heartfelt moments between these two during their ceremony! As a wedding photographer, it’s really hard not to tear up sometimes as we see all of these incredible moments unfolding.
After the ceremony wrapped up, we went to the Book Room with the bride & groom to get a couple of more indoor portraits of the two of them.
Here’s also a quick look at Rachel & Jeff’s sweetheart table! Loved all the florals that surrounded them & the purple uplighting behind them!
Once the sun started to set, we snuck back outside again on the terrace to get a couple of beautiful sunset rooftop portraits! If you’re looking to get married in Atlanta, and looking for an incredible rooftop wedding venue, make sure you check out the Peachtree Club! They have some of the best views in all the city!

We started off this gorgeous overcast day in a nearby airbnb Michael had rented out for his groomsmen to get ready in together! To see more photos from this part of the day, make sure to check out the slideshow at the end!
We absolutely loved this red barn aesthetic! Such a cool backdrop for a wedding day getting ready spot super close to downtown Roswell!
For their wedding day, Michael and his groomsmen wore light grey suits with dark navy blue ties.
After wrapping up the morning at the guys getting ready spot, we headed over to another airbnb house that the girls had rented out for their getting ready! When we arrived the girls were wrapping up their hair & makeup! We got a couple of images from Katie’s details from the day. To see more behind the scenes photos from this point of they day, definitely check out that slideshow at the end of this post!
The First Look
Katie & Michael opted to start their day with a first look! They wanted to get the majority of their photos done before the ceremony! A first look is a great way to extend the time you spend with family and friends on the wedding day once they arrive and the reception gets started!
Katie & Michael requested that some of their photos be taken at Old Mill Park – just around the corner from Ivy Hall! It’s such an incredible spot for photos! This image was photographed just outside the brick exterior of one of the buildings there.
And of course we had to get a photo on Vickery Creek bridge – one of the most iconic spots in Roswell Old Mill Park! There’s usually a waiting line to be able to shoot in this spot because couples love it so much!
Being an October wedding, it was a little chilly in the fall! Michael was so sweet and gave Katie his jacket to warm up for a few moments! (Ok, maybe we told him to because it would make for a cute photo op!) 😉
There was also a mild sprinkling of rain on their wedding day! We improvised and gave Michael one of our studio umbrellas to keep the bride and groom dry! Also made for a super cute photo op!
Bridal Party Portraits
After photographing images with Katie and Michael, their bridal party arrived! We started with some images with the bride and her bridesmaids! We were a huge fan of the teal green color picked out for the bridesmaid dresses! Absolutely perfect for fall.
The prompt for this shot was “let’s do an album cover shot!” This is what we got! Love the creativity we get when you get a large bridal party together!
Individual Portraits
And of course we had to get a solo portrait of the groom in his light grey suit and navy blue tie! Loved the brown button accents they chose as well! Very fall.
Katie was an absolutely gorgeous bride! We wanted to get a few quick shots with her and her beautiful bouquet! Loved the hot pink, burgundy, and purple colors in her flowers!
Absolutely stunning!
The Rainy Day Ceremony
It’s always such a sweet moment when the bride walks out with both of her parents to walk her down the aisle!
Got to grab those hugs in those last few moments before they give their baby girl away at the altar! For images from their Ivy Hall Roswell Wedding Photos Ceremony, check out the slideshow at the bottom of the post.
Reception Decor
Absolutely loved this gorgeous & chic wedding cake! We’re crazy about the gold foil accents and pink fresh flowers!
We’ve really got to hand it to Cakes by Darcy! This is at least the second wedding that we’ve gotten to photograph one of their cakes! SO much creativity goes into each one of their creations! This particular one the couple requested a ski slope for the groom’s cake! Such a cool idea! You can see the black diamonds, trees, and ski paths going down the mountain.
And of course we had to grab some interior photos of Ivy Hall as well! We love how they transform this space into the perfect wedding reception hall! The lit drapes hanging across the ceiling make such an impact.
The Send Off
At the end of the night, Katie & Michael’s guests sent them off in style with a confetti send off!!! The guests were very excited to grab fist fulls of the confetti to throw at the bride and groom! There are so many more great shots of this part of the evening in the slideshow below!
Night Time Portraits after the Reception
We’ve really got to hand it to Katie & Michael! Most couples wouldn’t care to stay after the wedding to get some additional creative night time portraits done. But this car had special meaning to the couple. It was originally owned by Michael’s late grandfather. As a way to honor his memory, they wanted to include it in some of their night time wedding pictures! Absolutely loved how these shots turned out.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words! With Whitney & Warren’s Terminus 330 Wedding Photos, ALL of these pictures were captured in just one hour! Talk about An Atlanta micro wedding! This intimate wedding venue provided the perfect backdrop for this special day!
This wedding was planned and put together by the incredibly talented Michele at Pop the Knot! She specializes in pop up intimate/ elopement style weddings.
Warren was such snazzy dresser! We loved his burgundy groom suit and matching burgundy boutonniere! He looked so sharp!
Probably some of the coolest groom shoes we’ve ever seen! Very stylish.
Whitney & her bridesmaids looking fierce! Again, absolutely loved these burgundy bridesmaid dresses! They complimented their skin tones so nicely! And the burgundy bouquets were also spot on!
Whitney was such a beautiful gorgeous bride!
Absolutely HAD to capture this sweet moment with the bride’s father before the ceremony started!
Whitney & Warren see each other for the first time that day!
I think his look says it all!
These words spoken by Whitney’s bridesmaid – this was such a powerful moment!
Such a great performance!
Terminus 330 probably has one of the coolest skyline views of the city skyline in Atlanta.
Here come the vows! Cue the water works! Such a tender moment. Whitney & Warren wrote their own vows. They were deeply personal and so touching. I’m misty eyed just thinking of the moment.
The groom had a moment! It was so sweet to see him instantly reassured by the bride and his best man!
There were so many amazing moments full of laughter!
When the bride started reading her vows, I LOST it!!! It was so hard to take pictures in this moment! Everything looked blurry! Good things our cameras can’t cry.
Absolutely love this moment of the ring exchange between the bride & groom!
Such a great looking crew! Absolutely loving the burgundy bridal party colors!

If you’re dreaming of a breathtaking wedding surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant blooms, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens is the perfect venue for your special day. In this guide, we’ll explore everything you need to know about capturing stunning Atlanta Botanical Gardens wedding photos. From picturesque spots within the gardens to tips for working with your photographer, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive into how to make your wedding ceremony photos truly unforgettable at this enchanting location.
Table of Contents
The Stunning Spaces for Atlanta Botanical Gardens Wedding Photos
1. Rose Garden
The Rose Garden is a classic and romantic spot for wedding ceremonies and photos. Surrounded by vibrant roses in full bloom, this area provides a picturesque and fragrant backdrop. The central fountain and beautifully manicured paths create an elegant setting that is perfect for both large and intimate gatherings. This garden is especially popular during peak bloom seasons in May/June and September/October.
2. Japanese Garden
For a serene and tranquil ambiance, the Japanese Garden is an excellent choice. This space features traditional Japanese landscaping elements such as koi ponds, stone lanterns, and meticulously pruned trees. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning aesthetics make it a unique location for wedding photos and ceremonies. This area is ideal for intimate ceremonies surrounded by evergreen beauty.
3. Fuqua Conservatory
The Fuqua Conservatory offers an exotic and lush environment that is perfect for a tropical-themed wedding. Inside, you’ll find several unique features:
Orchid Center
Adjacent to the Tropical Rotunda, the Orchid Center features one of the most significant collections of orchids in the United States. This area is perfect for adding an exotic and colorful element to your Atlanta Botanical Gardens Wedding Photos. The center’s stunning displays of rare and beautiful orchids can create a captivating and romantic atmosphere for both ceremonies and portraits.
Orchids in the display house are in bloom year-round, as they are rotated from on-site greenhouses when they are at their peak. However, peak blooming season for orchids is typically during the late winter to early spring, coinciding with the Garden’s annual Orchid Daze event from mid-February to mid-April. Outside of peak seasons, the displays might not be as vibrant, but there are always some orchids in bloom, providing beautiful and unique backdrops for your Atlanta Botanical Gardens Wedding Photos.
Tropical Rotunda
The Tropical Rotunda showcases a variety of rare and beautiful plants from tropical regions around the world. This lush, humid environment includes ferns, cycads, epiphytes, and tropical palms, creating a vibrant and immersive experience for visitors. The high humidity required to sustain these plants makes the room feel like a true tropical jungle, which is ideal for couples who want the beauty of nature with the comfort of an indoor setting.
While the Rotunda is a beautiful, weatherproof space perfect for stunning photos, the ultra-high humidity can make it challenging for couples to stay in this room for prolonged periods during photo sessions.
4. Great Lawn
The Great Lawn is a versatile and expansive space that can accommodate larger wedding parties. Surrounded by the beauty of the gardens, this open area can be transformed to suit your vision, whether you prefer a tented setup or an open-air celebration. It’s a perfect spot for both ceremonies and receptions, providing ample space for guests to enjoy the natural surroundings and offering a fantastic view of the Atlanta skyline, ideal for Atlanta Botanical Gardens Wedding Photos.
However, depending on the time of day you choose to have pictures taken here, it can be crowded, resulting in people in the backgrounds of your photos. If booking a wedding portrait session, proposal session, or engagement session, we highly recommend scheduling when it’s not super busy to ensure a clear photo with the city skyline without any distractions.
Another great time for photos here is at night, once the venue is shut down, or if guests are allowed in during evening hours. We have captured stunning portraits on the Great Lawn at night when our couple chose to have their wedding here. At the end of the wedding day, it was night time, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens was closed, and we were able to take pictures on the Great Lawn without any additional park guests around!
5. Vine Arbor
The Vine Arbor at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens is a picturesque covered walkway leading to the Fuqua Conservatory. This enchanting path is adorned with a variety of native and exotic vines, including evergreen and deciduous species such as Akebia trifoliata, Actinidia deliciosa (kiwi fruit), and the beautiful purple-flowering Millettia reticulata, also known as Evergreen Wisteria. The shaded arbor offers a serene and romantic setting for wedding and engagement photos, providing a unique and natural backdrop that is perfect for capturing intimate moments.
While the Vine Arbor offers a charming and visually appealing location, it’s important to note that the speckled or dappled lighting created by the vines can be challenging for photography, as it can create random hot spots in photographs. To avoid these difficulties, we highly recommend scheduling photo sessions during the hours surrounding sunrise or sunset when the light is softer and more even. Midday is generally not advised for photos in this area due to the harsh lighting conditions.
6. Alston Overlook
The Alston Overlook delivers a breathtaking panorama across the colorful beds of the Levy Parterre and the Fuqua Conservatory. While the Midtown skyline can be seen in the distance above the treetops of Piedmont Park, it is not the most dominant feature in photos taken from this spot. Instead, the vibrant garden beds and the elegant structure of the conservatory create a picturesque and captivating backdrop for wedding ceremonies and photos. This location is ideal for intimate gatherings and smaller wedding parties, offering a serene and scenic setting.
7. Longleaf Restaurant
Longleaf Restaurant offers a blend of indoor and outdoor spaces that are perfect for wedding receptions. With its contemporary design and beautiful views of the gardens, Longleaf provides a stylish and comfortable setting for dining and celebrations.
Exterior
Adjacent to Longleaf Restaurant, there is an amazing outdoor space featuring a charming brick wall alleyway adorned with vining plants and additional flowering plants nearby. This area is particularly magical at night, as string lights illuminate the pathway, creating a romantic and enchanting atmosphere. This exterior space is perfect for capturing stunning photos and provides a unique, picturesque setting for wedding celebrations. Whether used for an outdoor cocktail hour or an intimate photo session, this alleyway adds a special touch to your event, making it even more memorable.
Interior
The interior of Longleaf Restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows, a spacious dining area, and an elegant ambiance, making it ideal for hosting wedding receptions and other private events. The restaurant’s design allows guests to enjoy commanding views of the Anne Cox Chambers Garden and the Levy Parterre, creating a stunning backdrop for any event. The food at Longleaf is superb, offering a variety of exquisite dishes that cater to diverse tastes. Whether you’re planning a formal banquet or a more casual buffet, the catering team at Longleaf ensures a seamless and memorable dining experience for you and your guests.
These features make Longleaf Restaurant a versatile and elegant venue choice, suitable for both indoor and outdoor celebrations within the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
