Research Options Before You Hire
As with any big purchase or decision, it’s important to do some research before you hire a wedding photographer. Compare services and packages to determine which best meets your needs. Check out the work of several Douglas County Courthouse wedding photographers and read reviews from past clients. Ask questions and narrow down your choices until you find the perfect photographer for you!
Consider Reviews and References
When researching potential Douglas County Courthouse wedding photographers, consider their reviews and references. Ask to see samples of the photographer’s work from past happy couples and read customer reviews on wedding vendors websites or social media sites. You should also ask for references from other couples who have hired the same photographer, so you can get a full understanding of their service.
Set a Budget and Make sure the Photographer is Available on Your Date
Before you hire a Douglas County Courthouse wedding photographer, discuss your budget with them and get an estimate for the packages they offer. After deciding on your budget, make sure that the photographer is available on your wedding date. Sometimes wedding vendors book up months or even years in advance, so it’s important to check their availability early.
Look at Different Types of Wedding Photography Styles
Before hiring a wedding photographer, look into their portfolio to see the types of photography styles they offer. Some photographers specialize in posed and traditional shots while others might specialize in documentary style photography. There’s also a more artistic approach which is suitable for couples that want to create art out of their special day. Consider what style you prefer and find a photographer who can create beautiful photographs based on your preference.
Review Sample Work from the Photographer to Ensure They’re a Good Match for You
Before hiring a photographer for your wedding, review their sample work to determine if they’re the right match for you. You’ll want someone who is able to capture the moments of your day that are special and meaningful for you. Ask to see sample photos from previous Douglas County Courthouse weddings or request to see several of their portfolio pieces. Also, read reviews from couples who have hired the photographer before so you can find out how well they handled different situations and captured beautiful photographs.

Tips for Your Paulding County Courthouse Wedding Photography
1. Arrive Early and Be Prepared
To ensure your Paulding County Courthouse wedding runs smoothly, plan to arrive early. This extra time allows for unexpected delays, time to greet loved ones, and, most importantly, to capture candid and posed photos before the ceremony. Early arrival also gives us the chance to explore outdoor locations near the courthouse for additional photo opportunities.
2. Dress the Part
For brides, consider wearing a dress that’s timeless yet practical—something that complements the courthouse setting while making you feel confident. Grooms can opt for tailored suits or dress slacks paired with a crisp shirt. Accessories, bouquets, and pops of color in your attire can elevate your photos. Don’t forget—natural, effortless styling always photographs beautifully against a courthouse backdrop.
3. Plan Group Shots and Poses
Work with your photographer ahead of time to create a list of must-have group shots. Whether it’s family portraits, couple photos, or candid moments with your wedding party, having a plan ensures everything runs seamlessly. Be mindful of the courthouse’s guidelines when planning where to take your photos, and don’t hesitate to incorporate fun props like “just married” signs to add a playful touch.

Photography Tips for Cobb County Courthouse Weddings
Having a skilled courthouse wedding photographer can make all the difference in capturing the beauty of the Cobb County Courthouse. Here are some expert tips:
Best Times for Photos
Schedule your ceremony for early morning (sunrise) or late afternoon (sunset) to take advantage of the beautiful, soft natural light. Avoid solar noon when the sun is highest in the sky for the best outdoor photos.
Photo Spots
While the Cobb County Courthouse provides a dignified setting for your ceremony, some of the best photo opportunities can be found around the courthouse in the downtown Marietta area. Capture the essence of your special day with portraits featuring the charming streets, rustic brick backgrounds, and vibrant murals of Marietta Square. We take great care to position photos to minimize unwanted elements and highlight the unique character of the area.
3 Reasons Why We Love Photographing Cobb County Courthouse Weddings/Elopements on Marietta Square
1. The Marietta Sign & Surrounding Murals
Marietta Square has some cool artwork around that makes for the perfect backdrop for your elopement/wedding photos! If you want something more urban with bright pops of color, this will be your jam! This Marietta Mural sign is right next to the train tracks.
2. The Rustic Brick Backgrounds
If you want rustic brick backgrounds, Marietta Square has TONS of opportunities for various colors of painted brick throughout the downtown square area. It’s hard to move in a certain direction and NOT bump into a brick wall!
3. The Gazebo
The gazebo in Marietta Square is in the heart of the square! It’s a popular photo location. If you want your wedding photos to include this iconic gazebo, it’s wise to schedule your photo session at a time of day when the square is less busy! On a typical weekend, it’s not uncommon for there to be a line to take photos in this spot! For least busiest times, we typically recommend weekday sessions before 5pm (and avoiding the lunch hour rush!).

Cobb County as well as related names, marks, emblems, and images are registered trademarks of their respective owners.
