How Gwinnett County Courthouse Wedding Ceremonies Work
The Gwinnett County Probate Court offers free wedding ceremonies on most Friday afternoons, excluding holidays. Ceremonies are generally scheduled at 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM, and 2:30 PM, and an advance reservation is required.

The current check-in location is near the doors to the Jury Assembly Space on the second floor of the atrium, close to the escalators. Because renovations may affect the exact ceremony or check-in location, follow the signs and updated instructions posted at the building on your ceremony date.
Gwinnett County requires couples to reserve their ceremony date and time online. A marriage license alone does not reserve a wedding ceremony.
The court’s instructions are clear: no reservation means no ceremony. Secure your ceremony reservation before finalizing photography coverage so your photographer’s arrival time, ceremony coverage, and portrait plans can be built around the confirmed schedule.
The Probate Court advises couples not to wait until the ceremony date to apply for their marriage license. Incomplete applications, missing documentation, or processing delays could cause the ceremony to be rescheduled.
