Atlanta Symphony Hall & Woodruff Arts Center Engagement Pictures
When I ask my clients to choose a location for their engagement session, I ask them to choose a location that might hold a lot of meaning to them. The Atlanta Symphony Hall at Woodruff Arts Center was where Andrej proposed to Sarah. I had the honor of asking Sarah a couple of questions on how her and Andrej first met.
How did you meet your fiancé? Andrej and I met in high school in the school cafeteria! He knew a friend of mine from class and he would come sit with us at lunch everyday!
What attracted you most to your fiancé? The two things that attracted me most to Andrej were his sense of humor and his smile.
What made him different from the rest? It was just the way he acted towards me and just the way he was about life in general. He has always been a very sweet and thoughtful boyfriend and he’s always been my motivator to make myself a better person in different aspects of my life.
Who said “I love you” first? I believe I was the first to say I love you to him and when he said it back It felt awesome! Had the butterflies in my stomach, felt nervous but comfortable and excited all at the same time!
Were you nervous about him meeting your family? I’m sure I was nervous when he first met my family but both of my parents loved him and still love him to this day!
What’s the one thing about your partner you couldn’t live without? I couldn’t live without his sense of humor! Besides trust and communication, I think laughing together is a key to a great marriage and life together!
Engagement Party at Luciano’s Ristorante Italiano in Lawrenceville, GA | Emanuel & Claudia
I was so honored to be there for the engagement party of Emanuel & Claudia at Luciano’s Ristorante Italiano in Lawrenceville. It was a warm evening filled with family, friends, and delicious food. The restaurant was so accommodating, the staff – more than willing to serve. It was a wonderful night to witness and be a part of.
#ThrowBackThursday! These were senior portraits done for Baxter of Brookwood High School.
Spring is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about graduation pictures! Senior year is always such an exciting time – slow down and enjoy the moment.
When considering the length of coverage you need with your wedding photographer, it’s important to identify how much of the day you wish to document.
What moments from your day will be so important that you would include them in your album? What moments would you display as artwork in your home? What moments will you want to remember and share with your grandchildren when you’re 70? Your wedding photographer’s job is to tell the story of your day, but you get to decide where that story starts and where that story ends.
When we advise our clients in selecting the amount of coverage that is right for them, we look at all the events taking place the day of the wedding and how long each event will take. It’s also important to factor in the time it takes to pack and transport gear to travel from one location to another as well. Most wedding days look something like this –
Guys prep – we recommend one hour to cover candids, details & a couple posed shots.
Girls prep – we recommend one hour to cover candids, details & a couple posed shots.
Creatives – we recommend one to one and a half hours to capture first look (if before ceremony), and photograph romantic images in a variety of locations with the bride and groom together.
Ceremony – approximately 30 minutes.
Family Pictures – we recommend at least 30 minutes depending on family size.
Cocktail hour
Reception – the time it takes to cover announcements, cake cutting, toasts, dinner, first dances, bouquet & garter tosses, & send off
To see how these parts can fit together within a real schedule, explore our Atlanta wedding photography timeline planning guide. It includes sample timelines for full wedding days and intimate celebrations, with practical allowances for portraits, travel, Atlanta traffic, and changing seasonal light.
In the end, there are no right or wrong answers. The most important thing in choosing the number of hours you will need with your wedding photographer is to consider what will be important to you in the long run.
