The Atrium Wedding Photos | Atlanta, GA | Sarah & Andrej
We are so excited to bring you the Atrium wedding photos! The Atrium located in Atlanta, GA was an absolutely GORGEOUS venue with absolutely amazing people. I had the honor of photographing Sarah and Andrej on their wedding day. After asking Sarah & Andrej a couple of questions about their big day, this is what they had to say –
“Our favorite part of the wedding was when we were out on the dance floor because at that time we were surrounded by all our family and friends who we love and were there to share that special day with us, couldn’t ask for anything better than that! All of the vendors we had we loved and would recommend each and every one of them! The venue was beautiful and the staff was incredibly nice, the DJ played great music the whole night and kept everyone out on the dance floor, and our photographers captured the whole event beautifully and I couldn’t have been happier! If I could go back and give myself any piece of advice I would say to relax, everything is going to be fine! I am a worrier and spent a lot of time before the wedding worrying about what could go wrong. We were lucky and had no big hiccups during the day and evening but even if something had happened it wouldn’t have mattered because all that mattered is that everyone had a wonderful time and was there to celebrate love!”
Special thanks to these awesome wedding vendors for making this day happen –
We had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Bekah & Joe at Venue 92 this past spring. We are over the moon with these fantastic Venue 92 wedding photos! Below are a couple of highlights from their special day. 🙂
Cannot get over these gorgeous details Bekah had!
Venue 92 has an awesome clean and modern look. Lots of straight architectural lines, and great open spaces!
Super cute family photo tree idea! Decorative and meaningful.
What we absolutely loved about the bridal space was the amazing sheer size of it! Oh, and how about those awesome large windows??? Beautiful light coming in = amazing photos!
Bekah was such a smiley bride. We LOVE when brides just want to have fun and enjoy the wedding day!
Props to Venue 92 on the beautiful chandeliers and vintage style furniture as well – such a nice touch.
Man, gotta love those windows!! LOVE that light.
Joe getting ready with the guys!
Loved all these big clean large spaces – clutter free and beautiful.
Joe might have been a little bit nervous as we took a couple of stand alone groom shots.
And it’s time for the first look as Bekah descends down the stairs to see her future husband for the very first time on their wedding day.
These two are TOO cute.
A stolen kiss before the wedding! Shhhhhh.
Bekah & Joe got a sneak peek of the venue space as well before the ceremony started!
And the groomsmen might have had a couple shots before the party got started. 😉
LOVE these gorgeous floral bouquets!
Bekah’s mother showing true tears of joy!
Another thing we loved about these Venue 92 wedding photos – the ability to shoot from up high! We love it any time we can get an awesome aerial shot in. Would you believe these were also taken before drones existed? XD
Joe was holding back tears all day! We LOVED it!
Probably one of the most perfect first kisses I’ve ever seen. And START THE PARTY!
Venue 92 also had ample spaces outdoors to make for great couple creative photos. We loved these reddish/burgundy and gray barn doors!
Gorgeous fountains too!
Bekah & Joe were all over that dance floor! And boy did they know how to cut a rug.
There might have been a little bit of a cake smash as well…. Just a little though! Not a lot.
That time DJ Dre gave Joe the mic…. So he could karaoke at his own wedding. Props.
Probably one of the prettiest send offs we’ve ever done. Love these sparklers.

As much as every Atlanta wedding photographer loves to photograph weddings, we also LOVE to attend them. I had the honor of being invited to a very dear friend’s wedding this weekend at the Lawrenceville Historic Courthouse, one of the best Lawrenceville Wedding Venues. Alex & Jimmy had an absolutely beautiful night planned. I was able to snag a couple of quick shots during the reception for fun. Thank you so much for sharing your special day with all of us!
Overall, it was a wonderful evening shared with beautiful people and great friends at the Lawrenceville Historic Courthouse. Here’s a final shot getting ready for the garter toss at the end of the night!
Alex & Jimmy, thanks again for sharing this night with us!
When considering the length of coverage you need with your wedding photographer, it’s important to identify how much of the day you wish to document.
What moments from your day will be so important that you would include them in your album? What moments would you display as artwork in your home? What moments will you want to remember and share with your grandchildren when you’re 70? Your wedding photographer’s job is to tell the story of your day, but you get to decide where that story starts and where that story ends.
When we advise our clients in selecting the amount of coverage that is right for them, we look at all the events taking place the day of the wedding and how long each event will take. It’s also important to factor in the time it takes to pack and transport gear to travel from one location to another as well. Most wedding days look something like this –
Guys prep – we recommend one hour to cover candids, details & a couple posed shots.
Girls prep – we recommend one hour to cover candids, details & a couple posed shots.
Creatives – we recommend one to one and a half hours to capture first look (if before ceremony), and photograph romantic images in a variety of locations with the bride and groom together.
Ceremony – approximately 30 minutes.
Family Pictures – we recommend at least 30 minutes depending on family size.
Cocktail hour
Reception – the time it takes to cover announcements, cake cutting, toasts, dinner, first dances, bouquet & garter tosses, & send off
In the end, there are no right or wrong answers. The most important thing in choosing the number of hours you will need with your wedding photographer is to consider what will be important to you in the long run.

A Photographer’s Perspective with Over a Decade of Experience
At Jaimie Dee Photography, we’ve been photographing Roswell River Landing weddings for more than a decade. This riverside venue has a special place in our studio’s history – some of our very first weddings were photographed here.
Returning recently to capture another celebration after over ten years was both nostalgic and enlightening. With years of experience and advanced techniques under our belts, we approached the space with fresh eyes and a deeper understanding of how to bring out its very best features.
Table of Contents
A Quick Overview of Roswell River Landing
Located at 245 Azalea Drive in Roswell, Georgia, Roswell River Landing is owned and operated by the City of Roswell. The venue offers approximately 4,180 square feet of indoor event space and includes an observation deck overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Officially, the city lists the space with a maximum capacity of up to 200 guests. However, that number represents the absolute upper limit for total occupancy – not necessarily for a formal seated dinner and dance floor.
For couples planning a seated dinner, the comfortable guest count is significantly smaller. The venue works best for cocktail-style events that make full use of the upstairs, downstairs, and outdoor areas. This flexible layout allows for movement and mingling but does not leave much room for a traditional seated dinner with dancing. For couples dreaming of a relaxed, social atmosphere that encourages flow between spaces, Roswell River Landing can be a lovely fit.
Over the years, the venue has also benefited from enhanced landscaping and updated outdoor areas. The gardens and surrounding greenery now feature flowering plants, butterfly bushes, and tall ornamental grasses that photograph beautifully, adding both texture and color to portraits.
The Beauty (and Challenges) of the Space
Roswell River Landing is both charming and nuanced. Its riverside setting provides a naturally scenic backdrop – especially during spring and fall when the landscaping is at its peak. The building itself reflects a distinctly retro, late 20th-century design with clean geometric lines and broad glass windows that fill the interior with light.
One of the most striking features of the interior is the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river. These reflective surfaces offer unique lighting opportunities for photographers experienced in working with glass and mixed light sources.
The main reception space feels intimate and inviting once filled with tables and guests. We recently photographed a layout that seated 46 guests, and the space felt lively, social, and full of energy – perfect for couples who want their guests to feel connected throughout the evening. At that guest count, with the buffet & dessert table, DJ setup, and dance floor all located in the main space, the layout felt quite full. It worked beautifully for an intimate dinner but left limited room for dancing and movement once dinner concluded.
Couples planning a similar setup may wish to explore using the upstairs or outdoor areas to create a more comfortable flow. Because space is at a premium, we recommend discussing layout strategy early with your planner to ensure smooth transitions from dinner to dancing at Roswell River Landing.
Ceremony Spaces and Riverside Portraits
From our experience, many couples choose to hold their ceremonies on the outdoor deck overlooking the Chattahoochee River. The view is peaceful and romantic, though after rainfall the river can take on a greener hue due to sediment and nutrient flow in the water. This is simply part of the river’s natural character. Couples who prefer not to have the river’s color featured prominently in their ceremony photos may wish to speak with their planner about alternative ceremony orientations or backdrops.
Lighting is one of the most important factors to consider for outdoor events at Roswell River Landing. The hours just after sunrise or leading up to sunset offer the most flattering natural light for both ceremonies and portraits. These times of day create soft, golden tones that flatter skin and highlight the surrounding landscape. Midday light, especially near solar noon, tends to be the harshest and least forgiving. While we can use tools like reflectors or supplemental lighting to enhance portraits during bright daylight, ceremonies benefit most from natural light – since strong flashes during a ceremony can be distracting for guests.
Working Around Tight Spaces and Lighting Challenges
At Jaimie Dee Photography, we’ve learned to work seamlessly within the venue’s compact layout. Over the years, we’ve developed fast, efficient lighting setups that allow us to move quickly through the space without disrupting guests or décor.
We are well versed in both on & off camera flash and constant lighting, and we know when to use one technique over the other. This flexibility ensures consistent, flattering imagery in every scenario at Roswell River Landing. During receptions, we typically use on-camera flash – and when space allows, we’ll incorporate off-camera flash to enhance the mood. In smaller dance floor setups, we rely solely on our on-camera lighting for a clean and dynamic result. This approach keeps us mobile and efficient while preventing tripping hazards from light stands.
When capturing reception décor before guests enter the room, our team uses constant lighting held by an assistant photographer. This technique allows us to work quickly and creatively, ensuring every detail – from centerpieces to the cake table – is beautifully lit and documented before the celebration begins.
Many photographers find venues with glass walls and reflective surfaces tricky to photograph, but experience plays a huge role here. Knowing how to manage reflections, balance mixed light sources, and maintain clean, distraction-free backgrounds makes all the difference in the final gallery. We’ve spent years refining our approach to lighting, ensuring every wedding we photograph is bright, true-to-life, and beautifully balanced.
The Best Lighting Comes with Experience
In our early years, photographing Roswell River Landing required a lot of creative problem-solving. The combination of glass architecture, close quarters, and shifting daylight meant that adaptability was key. Today, with more than a decade of firsthand experience, we approach the space with confidence and artistry. Rather than changing what the venue is, our role is to highlight its strengths — using light, angles, and timing to craft images that feel natural and elegant.
Our reception photography is one of the areas where our expertise shines most. We love creating vibrant, colorful images that capture the joy and energy of the dance floor. Even when space is limited, our lighting approach ensures every moment looks polished and full of life.
Nighttime Creative Portraits That Stand Out
One of the ways our studio truly sets itself apart is through our nighttime creative portraiture. At a Roswell River Landing wedding, this can be particularly rewarding – and technically challenging. Because the venue’s parking lot extends close to the building, there’s limited room to step back far enough to capture the entire structure.
For one of our recent weddings here, we carefully scouted the property to find a corner angle that allowed us to feature both the couple and the venue beautifully illuminated against the night sky. Using supplemental lighting and the glow of a nearby street lamp, we created a romantic, cinematic image that highlights the couple while showcasing the venue’s character after dark. These portraits are often among our clients’ favorites — they bring a touch of drama and artistry to the wedding gallery that feels timeless and unforgettable.
Preparing for Weather and Backup Plans
Because the venue sits directly on the riverfront, weather preparedness is key. According to publicly available data from FEMA’s Georgia Flood MAP Viewer, Roswell River Landing is located within a designated Zone AE area along the Chattahoochee River. This simply reflects its riverside location, so it’s wise for couples to have a thoughtful contingency plan in place for rain or high water conditions. If rain forces your ceremony indoors, be aware that the main room’s capacity is limited.
In this situation, many couples consider performing a room flip – transforming the reception space into the ceremony space on short notice. This can be a practical solution, but it requires coordination and proper staffing. We recommend speaking directly with your planner about how this would work logistically and whether additional help would be needed. Couples may need to hire additional staff through their planning company to execute this transition smoothly.
This is also why investing in an experienced planner is invaluable. A skilled planner will already have discussed contingency options with you before the big day and can manage the entire process seamlessly – ensuring your wedding stays beautiful and stress-free no matter what the weather brings.
In our experience, heavy rain can occasionally make travel in the surrounding area more challenging, which only reinforces how essential it is to have a solid plan in place for any weather scenario.
Tips for Couples Planning a Wedding Here
Consider guest count carefully. While the city lists a maximum capacity of 200 people, that number represents overall occupancy, not a seated dinner setup. For seated dinners with a dance floor, you’ll likely need to seat some guests upstairs or outdoors if weather allows.
Think cocktail-style receptions. A more open, mingling format with high-top tables and lounge seating helps keep the atmosphere comfortable and inviting.
Plan ahead for dancing. To avoid needing to clear tables mid-reception for a dance floor, consider creative layout options or flexible setups that accommodate transitions more naturally.
Get ready off-site. While the venue offers dedicated suites for getting ready, these rooms are compact and lit with overhead fluorescent lighting, which can be less flattering for photography. For the best light and more space to prepare comfortably, nearby hotels or rentals make excellent alternatives.
Plan portraits around best times of day. The dock and landscaped areas are most flattering during the hours just after sunrise or the hours just before sunset.
Discuss a rain plan early. Work with your wedding planner in advance to determine how an indoor transition would work logistically – including who will handle the setup and timing if weather requires a last-minute change.
Why Experience Matters
Roswell River Landing offers a beautiful natural setting that rewards thoughtful planning and experienced photography. Its unique combination of glass architecture, riverfront light, and cozy indoor layout calls for a creative and practiced approach behind the camera. When you hire Jaimie Dee Photography, you’re hiring a team deeply familiar with this space – one that understands how to work with its reflective surfaces, maximize limited floor space, and bring out its warmth and charm.

Our approach is grounded in experience and careful attention to detail – ensuring your photos look effortless, authentic, and timeless.
