Gateway Arch St Louis | Atlanta Wedding Photographers
As Atlanta wedding photographers, we were ecstatic when we FINALLY got to take pictures of/ with/ near the Gateway Arch St. Louis. During the whole Shutterfest 2015 conference, we saw ALL these other photographers shooting down at the arch! Being native Atlantans, we had no idea where the Gateway Arch was in relation to the hotel where the conference was held. We finally made it there on the last day. We didn’t have any models, but we made sure to take some personal souvenir pics with the historic landmark!
Finally got a picture with all three of us!
Under construction….
Look at this MODEL for Kelly Moore!! (I think it’s a Kelly Moore bag, right?)
A little late in getting these up, but better late than never! We had a blast photographing Tricia’s Swan Coach House bridal shower luncheon. The food was delicious, the mimosas amazing, and it was a great time for all!
Atlanta Wedding Photographers identify with Lifestyle & Artistic Photography Styles
According to this article by TheKnot.com, there are 5 styles of wedding photographers – We learned this while watching the Jasmine Star Creative Live Workshop (The Complete Wedding Photographer Experience) whilst in our Atlanta Photography studio today. As part of the exercise as Jasmine instructed, we examined these 5 different styles to see which we identified with the most.
Between the styles – Classic, Artistic, Lifestyle, Dramatic, and Documentary, we found ourselves relating the most to the Artistic and Lifestyle categories.
An Artistic wedding photographer sees the world as a true artist. They tend to shoot with wide lenses to capture those BIG shots that really help set the overall scene of the day. We LOVE to create this type of imagery for all of our clients when shooting on the day of the wedding. Here are a couple of examples of photos captured in an “artistic style”
While we find that our wedding photography work relates strongly to the Artistic Style as described by The Knot, we also find that we do so much more on the wedding day than just look for those big, beautiful images. When we’re not shooting creatives, or we’ve already captured our shot to set the scene, we have a tendency to zoom in to focus on those photojournalistic moments. A Lifestyle photographer tends to scout locations prior to or as an event is taking place to take advantage of the best lighting, best scenery, and then use creative license to shape the day’s events around those elements. The end results are very candid looking wedding photographs with raw emotion, but also with the best natural lighting, the best use of backgrounds, etc. Here are a couple of photographs we think that really embody the Lifestyle type of imagery.
We can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s workshop will bring. Thanks Jasmine for all the awesome inspiration today!
Photo Walk through Piedmont Park with Atlanta wedding photographers
This is a fun personal post for me. We went on a photo walk yesterday at Piedmont Park with a group of local wedding photographers from Shoot and Share. This is what photographers do for fun. Take silly pictures of each other.
Haki is so moody!
Always posing for the camera!
And people like to take pictures of you when you take pictures of them….
Even dogs like to have their picture taken….
“No more pictures, PLEASE!” – Amanda
Most of the time they had no idea I was photographing them… sneaky sneaky shooting from the hip street photography style.
Melissa reminds me of that Beatles pose as they’re walking across the street in this picture…
HAD to get a bell kick in!
Posing like super heroes.
Because boys like to climb trees….
And rescue dogs…?
hehehe
And we like to take pictures of people taking selfies…
Always posing for the camera. #divamoment #lifeofadiva
Ended the evening with dinner at Park Tavern, right off of Piedmont Park. Overall, it was a fun day!
I meant to post these a while back. The very first warm weekend we had this spring, a group of friends decided to get together for a SWEET bbq at Stone Mountain Park, GA. The food was delicious, the volleyball was fun. I wish I wasn’t so busy eating the food, otherwise there would have been pictures of that too. Lucky for my friends, I suck at all hand-eye coordination sport known to man. Hence, I was able to grab a couple snapshots from the action that day!
I love this montage! Hahahaa
Fares’ face was SO funny!!!!
And that FACE again!!!
They broke the “net” – this is them fixing it?
He poppin’, he rollin’, he rollin’ he climbin’ that pole and ……
Friend: “Hey girl! You want to go to yogurt tonight???”
Me: “Frozen yogurt??? YEAHHHH!!!!”
Friend: “Wait, what??? You FAT ASS. I said YOGAAAAA!!!!”
Me: *siiiiiiigh*
>.< Smh.
I went to a yoga class tonight for the first time in a long time. A friend had been nagging me to go for ages and guess I finally broke down! The last time I had been was actually with this same friend perhaps 3 or 4 years ago.
I never felt that yoga did much for my body, hence the reason why I stopped. I’m a naturally super bendy and flexible person. I could probably join the circus if I’d wanted. I felt that yoga never really challenged me. Whenever the instructor would advise us on how to intensify a stretch, I would take it to a whole new level – just to feel something.
But this evening, the moment they turned out the lights, I was instantly engulfed in a feeling of calmness. I had forgotten the joys of meditating and taking time out of a busy day to really just … sit still. I felt probably more at peace than I have in ….. a year? Two? I feel silly, but it’s almost like I felt a calmness and some form of a connection with a higher being.
I’m not as religious as I used to be, but I still feel guilty for not taking time out of my day to count my blessings and be grateful for everything in my life. There are so many things I take for granted every day. Whether I’m praying to a God in thanks, or just taking time to acknowledge the little things, I feel like it’s something I should do more often.
I don’t know if I’ll stick with the yoga, but I wanted a chance to bottle up the amazing feeling of peace I felt tonight.
