Getting Ready
Rocky’s Lake Estate had a couple of “getting ready” spaces available for the bride & groom and their respective bridal parties!
The groomsmen suite offered a lot of great natural light coming in through a large garage window. It probably would have been pretty awesome to have had the garage door open if it had been a nice day!
The groom’s suite also included a pool table, restroom, large screen television, comfy couch, and multiple spaces for getting dressed. The pool table always makes for a great photo opp!
The bridal suite had multiple rooms available as well and a restroom. We were a huge fan of all of the mirrors available for the bridesmaids as they were doing their makeup! No need to fight over a makeup chair or for mirror space – there were plenty of options available! There was a second room available to be used as a large changing room, complete with a large mirror, additional mirror, and super cute pink couch (also great for a photo opp). There was also ample hanging space for clothes.
Bridal Portraits
One of the coolest things about Rocky’s Lake Estate is that there are SO many places to take incredible pictures all across the grounds. From the beautiful outdoor ceremony space, any side of the lake, the bridge, and all of the beautiful indoor spaces, there were so many spaces to choose from! Even if it happens to rain all day, there are plenty of indoor locations to choose from for photos as well! The indoor spaces work really well when lit with professional lighting gear for portrait sessions.
The First Look
When looking for places to take pictures at Rocky’s Lake Estate, we’re a huge fan of their outdoor ceremony space! We love the juxtaposition of the furniture in the outdoors. It makes for a great location for a First Look!
Couples Creative Portraits
For couples’ portraits, you can’t go wrong with the altar space, ceremony space, gazebo, lake, bridge, or space in front of the reception pavilion! Whether you’re looking to have your portraits done during the day, at night, or even both, there are so many incredible locations to choose from.
Bridal Party & Family Portraits
Portraits with the bridal party and family can be taken anywhere along the grounds where the lighting is good, but we love the sentimental value that the altar provides.
The Ceremony
Rocky’s Lake Estate Wedding Venue
The outdoor ceremony space at Rocky’s Lake Estate has such a cool look & vibe to it! The bridal party walks down the aisle perfectly framed before making their way through the center aisle in between the pews. This ceremony space is so wide and open that it allows for pictures from many various vantage points.
The Reception
At the time of this writing, there are two separate indoor receptions spaces at the Rocky’s Lake Estate wedding venue. The first is a classic rustic/ vintage style space. We were caught by surprise (in a good way!) by the unique water feature in this room on the far wall – this is not something you typically see at most wedding venues. It offered nice relaxing sounds that you’d expect from a cool water feature.
The second space is a large pavilion, perfect for a dance floor or an indoor ceremony space (in the event of inclement weather). We were a big fan of the draping in this space along the ceiling – it really helped to transform the pavilion into an elegant wedding reception space. We’d highly recommend adding uplighting to this room to bring your wedding reception imagery up to the next level!
