Prospect Farms Christmas Photos: What to Know Before Booking Holiday Portraits

by

Prospect Farms Christmas photos have a completely different feeling from a standard park session. The property in Lawrenceville is known for styled seasonal sets, and during the holidays those sets create a polished, festive backdrop for families, children, couples and even proposals.

We have photographed a mix of Christmas mini sessions and full holiday portrait sessions at Prospect Farms, including the Barn Christmas set, the Greenhouse, the Vintage Piano Field Session, the 1965 Blue Christmas Truck, the Log Wall with its red velvet couch, a Christmas tree stand add-on, and Christmas setups inside The Farmhouse Lounge.

This guide focuses on the Christmas sets themselves: what they look like, how they photograph, what to consider before booking, and how to plan outfits that fit the setting. For general location planning, read our full Prospect Farms guide. For a room-by-room look at the indoor spaces, read our guide to The Farmhouse at Prospect Farms.

Why Prospect Farms Works Well for Christmas Photos

Prospect Farms is a strong holiday portrait location because so much of the styling is already built into the sets. Seasonal setups come with props, furniture, textures and holiday details, so Christmas portraits feel complete and polished from the first frame. For families with young children, those details also make the session feel fun and interactive.

The best set depends on the look you want. Some feel rustic, some feel cozy, and some feel classic. Some are playful and child-friendly. Some work well for larger families, while others are best for small families, couples or children.

Christmas Sets We Have Photographed at Prospect Farms

Barn Christmas Set

The Barn Christmas set is one of the strongest options for classic holiday portraits. We have photographed many Christmas mini sessions here, and it works especially well for families and children. Last season the Barn featured flocked Christmas trees, a white settee and warm wood walls: a festive, family-friendly look that is easy to use for Christmas cards.

Greenhouse Christmas Session

The Greenhouse (not to be confused with the newer Glasshouse) creates a different kind of holiday portrait. We photographed a full-length multi-generational family Christmas session here, and it gave the images a styled seasonal feeling with depth and variety. It is a good fit for families who want something Christmas-focused with a garden feel.

Vintage Piano Field Session

The Vintage Piano Field Session sits toward the back of the property and has an open, whimsical look. We used it during a full-length multi-generational Christmas family session along with the Greenhouse. Because it is outdoors and farther into the property, it is best for full sessions with time to move comfortably.

1965 Blue Christmas Truck

The 1965 Blue Christmas Truck is playful, nostalgic and especially sweet for children. We photographed a baby and parents in the back of the truck while it was decorated for Christmas. It is a lovely choice for families who want holiday portraits that feel fun and relaxed.

Log Wall With Red Velvet Couch

The red velvet couch gives the Log Wall a bold holiday focal point that feels cozy, festive and polished. When we photographed this set, a snow add-on was available. Seasonal add-ons can change, so confirm current options directly with Prospect Farms before booking.

Christmas Tree Stand Add-On

When we photographed the Log Wall, a Christmas tree stand add-on was set up nearby. Details like this are perfect for children, siblings and families who want a playful holiday story in their images. Set designs change each season, so confirm what is available with Prospect Farms.

The Lounge Christmas Setup

The Lounge inside The Farmhouse is one of the best indoor Christmas options at Prospect Farms, and we have photographed many family Christmas sessions in this room. It is spacious, light and airy, which gives families with children room to move. Because it is indoors, it is also a smooth choice when weather is a concern.

Mini Sessions vs. Full Christmas Sessions

Prospect Farms works for both mini sessions and full holiday portrait sessions.

Mini sessions are best when you want a short, focused set of images in one setup. Because mini sessions are scheduled back to back, arriving early and ready matters. This year most of our Christmas mini sessions are in Kennesaw, with a limited number of spots at Prospect Farms. Check that page for 2026 dates and details, and read our mini session FAQs to see how the day works.

Full sessions give you more time, more variety and a calmer pace. They are a great fit for multi-generational families, young children who need time to warm up, or anyone who wants to use more than one area of the property.

Booking Timing and Availability

Christmas season is one of the busiest times at Prospect Farms, and sets can book quickly, especially on weekends. If you are hoping for a full-length session at a specific Christmas set, plan early. Weekdays often have more availability, and the very beginning or very end of the season can be less busy than the peak holiday weeks. Availability changes every year, so confirm current set release dates, booking rules and peak timing directly with Prospect Farms.

Weather and Indoor vs. Outdoor Christmas Sets

Outdoor Christmas sets are beautiful, and they are also weather-dependent. Rain, wet ground or a cold snap can affect comfort and session flow. Because Christmas season is busy and outdoor sets are weather-dependent, we recommend choosing your set carefully and confirming the current rescheduling and weather policies directly with Prospect Farms before booking.

If weather flexibility is a priority, an indoor Farmhouse Christmas set is the smoother choice. Our inclement weather policy explains how we handle weather for our own sessions.

What to Wear for Prospect Farms Christmas Photos

Choose outfits that fit the set and the feeling you want. Neutrals and Christmas colors both work well: cream, tan, white, soft brown, deep green, burgundy, red and navy all photograph beautifully depending on the backdrop.

The biggest guideline is to coordinate without matching exactly. Pick a color palette and let everyone’s outfit fit within it. Dressier outfits give holiday portraits a polished feel, and Christmas photos can also be playful: matching pajamas are adorable when they are intentional, and mismatched pajamas work when they share a color palette.

For outdoor Christmas sets, plan layers. A coat, jacket, cardigan or scarf that works with the outfits keeps kids warm and still looks great in photos. For more ideas, see our guide on what to wear for Christmas pictures.

Families, Couples and Proposals

Most of our Prospect Farms Christmas examples are families and children, and the sets work beautifully for couples too. We have even photographed a proposal at Prospect Farms during Christmas season, and it felt sweet and magical. If you are planning something more personal, choose a set that fits the tone you want: some sets feel playful and family-focused, while others feel romantic and cozy. "We had a great experience! Jaimie guided us through our engagement session with such ease. She spent time prior over the phone and via email educating us on how to not only pick our outfits but how to make our poses not ‘pose-y’. Our engagement shoot seemed to only last a few minutes, it was never awkward and I know both my fiance and I loved it. Jaimie gave us direction while still allowing our personalities to shine through! Definitely would recommend her to anyone!"
