Atlanta Wedding Photographers identify with Lifestyle & Artistic Photography Styles
According to this article by TheKnot.com, there are 5 styles of wedding photographers – We learned this while watching the Jasmine Star Creative Live Workshop (The Complete Wedding Photographer Experience) whilst in our Atlanta Photography studio today. As part of the exercise as Jasmine instructed, we examined these 5 different styles to see which we identified with the most.
Between the styles – Classic, Artistic, Lifestyle, Dramatic, and Documentary, we found ourselves relating the most to the Artistic and Lifestyle categories.
An Artistic wedding photographer sees the world as a true artist. They tend to shoot with wide lenses to capture those BIG shots that really help set the overall scene of the day. We LOVE to create this type of imagery for all of our clients when shooting on the day of the wedding. Here are a couple of examples of photos captured in an “artistic style”
While we find that our wedding photography work relates strongly to the Artistic Style as described by The Knot, we also find that we do so much more on the wedding day than just look for those big, beautiful images. When we’re not shooting creatives, or we’ve already captured our shot to set the scene, we have a tendency to zoom in to focus on those photojournalistic moments. A Lifestyle photographer tends to scout locations prior to or as an event is taking place to take advantage of the best lighting, best scenery, and then use creative license to shape the day’s events around those elements. The end results are very candid looking wedding photographs with raw emotion, but also with the best natural lighting, the best use of backgrounds, etc. Here are a couple of photographs we think that really embody the Lifestyle type of imagery.
